How Many Cups in a Pint?

This experiment has to be done in a sink, and a large funnel is necessary.

Provide containers:
- a standard cup
- a standard pint
- a standard quart
- a standard gallon

Using smaller containers, children add water to larger containers and then record the relationships and make a chart.

Some children can measure the number of tablespoonfuls in 1/8 cup, 1/4 cup, 1/2 cup, and 1 cup if a standard tablespoon and a 1/8 cup, a 1/4 cup, and a 1/2 cup are provided, along with the cup.
