Listen to The Heart

Using a stethoscope, children can listen to their own hearts and hearts of their partners.

Questions for children to answer:
What does the heartbeat sound like?
Where else on your body can you hear your heart beat?
How loud does a sound have to be for it to be heard in the stethoscope?
Lay the stethoscope on a table top and tap with your finger on the underside of the table. How big a tap do you have to make for it to be heard in the stethoscope?

Lay the stethoscope on the wall that adjoins another classroom. Can you hear noises inside that classroom?
Make a booklet showing where you placed the stethoscope and what you heard.
